This Privacy Policy explains how Moura Stock Dogs LLC ("Moura Stock Dogs," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects personal information when you use the Moura Stock Dogs Auction website and related online auction services (collectively, the "Site"). Moura Stock Dogs LLC owns and operates the Site. Our Terms of Use and Conditions of Sale govern your use of the Site and participation in our auctions and are incorporated by reference where applicable.

Information we collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, information generated through your participation in auctions, and certain technical information generated when you use the Site.

Bidder account and registration information

Account creation and bidder registration occur together as one process.

When you register as a bidder, we may collect:

your full legal name;
email address;
telephone number;
mailing address;
company name, if provided;
login credentials;
your acceptance of our Terms of Use, Conditions of Sale, Privacy Policy, and other applicable agreements;
the date and time of your registration or acceptance of applicable terms;
bidder approval status;
permanent bidder number; and
other information reasonably necessary to establish, review, approve, maintain, or secure your bidder account.

Approval

Submission of bidder registration does not automatically grant bidding privileges. Moura Stock Dogs reviews bidder registrations and determines whether bidding privileges will be approved.

Card verification information

A valid debit or credit card is required as part of bidder registration for bidder verification, account security, and fraud-prevention purposes.

Card information is submitted securely to Stripe, our third-party payment processor.

Moura Stock Dogs does not receive or store your full card number or card security code.

Stripe securely processes and stores the payment method. We may receive and retain limited information associated with the verified card, such as:

card brand;
last four digits;
expiration month and year;
Stripe customer or payment-method identifiers;
verification status; and
other limited non-sensitive information provided by Stripe.

Payment for dogs

The verification card is not used to pay for dogs purchased through the auction Site.

Winning bidders are invoiced separately by Moura Stock Dogs after an auction closes, and payment for the purchased dog is handled separately from the bidder-verification process.

Bidding and auction activity

We maintain records relating to your use of our auction services, which may include:

bids you place;
maximum or proxy bids;
lots you watch or follow;
auction lots in which you participate;
dogs you win;
auction results;
bidder approval history;
account status;
permanent bidder number;
timestamps associated with bidding activity;
account confirmations;
records of policy acceptance; and
other information relating to your participation in Moura Stock Dogs auctions.

Communications

We may maintain records of communications between you and Moura Stock Dogs relating to your account, bidder registration, auction activity, purchases, payment, pickup, transportation, or other customer-service matters.

Technical and usage information

When you access or use the Site, we may automatically collect certain technical or usage information, such as:

Internet Protocol (IP) address;
browser type;
device type;
operating system;
date and time of access;
pages or features accessed;
login activity;
security events;
bidding-related technical activity; and
other information reasonably necessary to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the Site.

How we use your information

We may use the information we collect to:

create and maintain your bidder account;
review and approve bidder registrations;
verify bidder information;
verify and maintain a valid card through Stripe;
prevent fraud, misuse, unauthorized bidding, and other improper activity;
assign and maintain your permanent bidder number;
administer auctions;
record and process bids;
operate maximum or proxy bidding;
determine winning bidders;
maintain auction and bidding records;
communicate with you regarding your account or auctions;
send bid, outbid, and auction notifications;
notify you of bidder approval or account issues;
send winning-bid notices;
invoice winning bidders following an auction;
communicate regarding payment, pickup, or transportation;
answer questions and provide customer support;
maintain and improve Site security;
troubleshoot technical problems;
enforce our Terms of Use and Conditions of Sale;
maintain legal, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and business records; and
comply with applicable legal obligations.

Account and auction communications

By creating a bidder account and providing an email address and telephone number, you agree to receive account- and auction-related communications from Moura Stock Dogs by email and/or text message, as permitted by applicable law.

These communications may include:

bidder-registration notices;
bidder approval or rejection notices;
account-verification notices;
auction reminders;
bid confirmations;
outbid notifications;
auction-closing notices;
winning-bid notifications;
invoices and payment communications;
pickup and transportation information;
security notices; and
other communications relating to your bidder account or participation in Moura Stock Dogs auctions.

Message rates

Message and data rates may apply to text messages.

These communications are used to operate and administer bidder accounts and auctions and are separate from any optional promotional or marketing communications that Moura Stock Dogs may offer in the future.

Account information confirmation

You are responsible for keeping the personal information associated with your bidder account accurate and current.

If you have not logged into the Site for 60 days or more, you may be required to review and confirm that your contact information, address, and verification card remain current before placing additional bids.

We may also request updated or corrected information at other times where information appears incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, or invalid.

How we share your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may share information in the following circumstances.

Stripe and card verification

We use Stripe to securely process and maintain the card used for bidder verification.

Information necessary to perform card verification, authentication, fraud prevention, security, and related services is provided to Stripe.

Your full card number and card security code are processed and stored by Stripe and are not stored by Moura Stock Dogs.

Stripe's collection, use, storage, and protection of information is also governed by Stripe's applicable privacy practices.

Service providers

We may use third-party service providers to help operate the Site and our auction services.

These providers may perform functions such as:

website hosting;
database hosting;
authentication;
email delivery;
text-message delivery;
card verification;
fraud prevention;
security;
video hosting;
technical support;
analytics; or
other services necessary to operate the Site.

Provider obligations

These providers may process personal information as reasonably necessary to perform services for us.

Legal and safety purposes

We may disclose personal information where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to:

comply with applicable law;
respond to a subpoena, court order, warrant, or other lawful request;
cooperate with law-enforcement or regulatory authorities;
investigate suspected fraud or illegal activity;
enforce our agreements;
protect the rights or property of Moura Stock Dogs;

Business transfers

If Moura Stock Dogs or substantially all or part of its business or assets is sold, merged, reorganized, transferred, or acquired, personal information associated with the business may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Any successor would remain subject to applicable legal obligations concerning the information it receives.

However, disabling cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for authentication or Site functionality may prevent certain features from working properly, including signing in or placing bids.

If Moura Stock Dogs uses non-essential analytics, advertising, or other tracking technologies that require additional notice or consent under applicable law, we may provide additional controls or notices as appropriate.

How long we keep your information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

maintain your bidder account;
operate our auction services;
maintain bidding and auction histories;
fulfill transactions;
comply with legal, tax, accounting, and record-keeping requirements;
prevent fraud;
resolve disputes;
enforce agreements; and
protect legitimate business interests.

Records retained after closure

Closing or deleting a bidder account does not necessarily require deletion of all information associated with the account.

We may retain records such as:

bids;
auction results;
completed transactions;
bidder numbers;
records of legal agreements accepted;
payment and invoice records;
fraud-prevention information; and
other records reasonably necessary for legal or legitimate business purposes.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

Access to bidder information is limited as appropriate, and sensitive Site activity may be logged for security and fraud-prevention purposes.

However, no Internet-based system or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

The security of your account also depends on you.

You are responsible for keeping your password and login credentials confidential and for taking reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorized access to your bidder account.

Moura Stock Dogs will not ask you to send your password, full card number, or card security code by email.

If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization, contact us promptly.

Your privacy choices and requests

You may review and update certain personal information associated with your bidder account by signing into the Site.

You may also contact us to request, where applicable:

access to personal information associated with your account;
correction of inaccurate personal information;
deletion of certain personal information; or
information concerning how your personal information is handled.

Verification and retention

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a privacy request.

Certain information may not be deleted where retention is reasonably necessary or required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, auction-integrity, record-keeping, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate business purposes.

Where applicable law provides additional privacy rights, Moura Stock Dogs will process eligible requests in accordance with applicable law.

Account closure

You may request closure of your bidder account by contacting Moura Stock Dogs.

Closing an account does not eliminate:

obligations arising from bids already placed;
payment obligations for dogs already purchased;
records of completed auctions or transactions; or
information Moura Stock Dogs is permitted or required to retain.

Children's privacy and age requirement

The Site's bidder-registration and auction services are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years of age.

Individuals under 18 are not permitted to register as bidders or place bids through the Site.

We do not knowingly permit minors to maintain bidder accounts.

If we learn that a bidder account was created by an individual who was not eligible to register, we may suspend or terminate the account and take appropriate steps regarding the information associated with it.

Third-party websites and services

The Site may contain links to or integrate with third-party websites or services, such as payment processors, video-hosting platforms, registries, laboratories, transportation providers, or other resources.

Moura Stock Dogs does not control the privacy practices of independent third parties.

When you interact directly with a third-party service, information you provide may be governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy.

Changes to this privacy policy

Moura Stock Dogs may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

The "Updated" date at the top of this page identifies the current version.

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we may provide notice through the Site, your bidder account, email, or another appropriate method.

Where required by applicable law or where appropriate due to a material change in our practices, we may require you to affirmatively acknowledge or accept an updated version before continuing to use certain Site features.

We will not materially change our treatment of previously collected personal information in a manner that is inconsistent with applicable law.
